Feverfew Flower Essence

There were many cloudy days the past few weeks. Patiently, I waited for a sunny day to make essences with whatever flowers remained in my yard at this time of the year.

But on one windy, cloudy day last week, I walked past my feverfew plant. Many of its leaves had browned and there was no sign of a flower on it.

“Harvest me, ” Feverfew said.

“Well, there isn’t much left of you, but if you insist,” I replied and began harvesting the remaining green leaves.

Without noticing until after the deed was done, I snipped a stem that had four flowers on it still in bloom.

“Use me,” Feverfew said.

The wind howled around me and I looked up to a gray sky.

“Are you sure? The sun is not out today, ” I replied.

“Yes, use me. I love the stormy weather,” Feverfew answered.

So, in union with the wind and clouds I prepared the Feverfew essence.

After a couple hours of stormy weather, the wind settled, the clouds parted, and the Sun shone upon the crystal bowl that held the Feverfew flowers in fresh spring water for the final few hours.

To Use: Take 1-3 drops on the tongue as needed. Imagine the plant & invite it to be your ally. Plant energies may affect different people in different ways. Try to notice when you feel the desire to take this flower essence. Meditate on the energy and/or message that this plant has for you.

Ingredients: Essence of Feverfew, a wind storm, & the Sun, fresh NY spring water collected during the Full Moon, & brandy
